Kimono and fabrics
The Kimono is the most famous Japanese Traditional piece of clothing, which is loved by a lot of people all around the globe! Maybe you have already dreamed about having a beautiful Kimono for your little doggie? I´m sure you´ll be the center of public attention at your next party or social event with one of our Kimonos!
When not being worn by your little dog, it's also a beautiful decoration in your living room.
At the moment we offer three different types of Kimonos: Kimono, Hakama (sold out), Yukata
Kimono
Have you ever seen such a cute and also gorgeous Kimono for a doggie? The main part is made of the genuine Japanese fabric “Chirimen” with delicate beautiful Japanese patterns, which are also used for people's Kimonos. “Chirimen” is a Japanese crêpe fabric with a distinctively crisp, crimped appearance. This artistic fabric is famous, loved and not only used for the Kimono.
The Obi (a sash for the Japanese Kimono) for the Conventional Kimono and the Hakama is made of the traditional brocade "Nishijin-ori" which is interwoven with shimmering threads. "Nishijin-ori" is one of Kyoto's designated traditional crafts, which has its origins in the 5th century.
Hakama
The Hakama includes a box-pleated skirt and was originally worn by men, especially the Sumurai. But nowadays women are also wearing them for special opportunities like graduation ceremonies or Kyudo (Japanese Archery).
Sold Out.
Yukata
The Yukata is a summer style Kimono. Nowadays we, Japanese, often wear them to Summer Festivals. The photo above shows the "Yukata dress" style, which has an A-line skirt.
It´s made of 100% ripple fabric cotton (thin fabric). It looks like the ripples that occure on the surface of the lake during a gentle breeze . It's a very light and floaty piece of clothing - which makes it very comfortable in hot summer! The Obi is not removable, but washable.
